Inspiration: This piece is part of a 2018 series of collages drawing inspiration from the universal elements of light/fire, water, air and earth. In “Outside the Fence,” a child sits outside of a fence along a roadway, exposed to the elements and oncoming traffic. Fire is used as an expressive element to convey danger and emotion. Subtle blue hues contrast and add tension to the piece. Borders, fences, and children are all associations with this image.
Note: this print is much smaller than most other prints (hence the lower cost), as it is the size of the original artwork, 12×12″ and a larger print would take away some of the intimacy of this piece. The print does come with a 1″ handling border, where Rachel signs the work, making the paper outer dimensions about 16×16″
