Title: Let the Flowers Bloom
Medium: Cut Paper on Birch Panel
Size of Original: 10″ x 10″ (cradle board 0.75″ deep)
An original Cut Paper work on cradled birch panel by Rachel, using small pieces of up-cycled magazine paper, adhered to birch panel with archival adhesive and finished with gloss varnish, to prevent fading and ensure conservation museum standards. Sides of birch panel painted and sealed.
This piece shows a grandmother in a trench coat, holding her grandson in a field of dandelions as a tornado looms ahead. Amid the threat on the horizon, the figures and flowers stand firm, as if defying destruction.
