Original painting by Rachel Dolezal. Gallery-wrapped 8×10″ unframed canvases with painted sides for modern frameless display.
This diptych features two inseparable canvases, with the child canvas on the left and the mother canvas on the right. This artwork speaks to the heartbreaking experience (represented by the fragmented lines throughout) of a parent being separated from their child. Inspired by the situation of immigrant children being separated from their parents, this piece also depicts a broader scope of experience, when a child and parent are separated, in life or death.
