Rachel recently relocated from Washington state to Arizona, and this is the first of her paintings featuring a desert landscape in Arizona, while paying tribute to her move from Eastern Washington by transitioning the Palouse wheat fields and pine trees from the right of the scene into the desert with cacti and tree commonly seen in the Tucson, Arizona area. Touching on a common human experience, this piece marks transitions associated with relocation and migration from one climate to another.
