Title: Dreams on Fire
Medium: Cut paper on Bristol
Size of Original: 11×14″
Framed under museum non-glare glass with double satin mat and gold frame, outer dimensions of frame: 19×22″
An original Cut Paper work on bristol by Rachel, using small pieces of up-cycled magazine paper, adhered to thick Bristol paper and varnished with UVLS to prevent fading.
A young girl crosses her arms in a tight “W” across her chest, while fire falls from the sky at left -a metaphor for the passion of her dreams and goals. To the right, a tall cliff is silhouetted against a contrasting blue sky. Wrapped in elegant fabric with jewelry and flowers, she is somewhere between dressing up for the role she envisions becoming in her adult life and youthful uncertainty about the possibilities in her future.
