A hand-signed fine art print of “Deliverance,” an original handmade collage by Rachel Dolezal.
Original art is made from recycled magazine paper with intricate layers of detail and imagery – the process is unique and very much like “painting” with pieces of paper.
This signed reproduction is a large poster-sized piece, about 24×32″
Inspiration: This piece is part of a 2018 series of collages drawing inspiration from the universal elements of light, water, air and earth. In “Deliverance,” an endless sequence of mountains, fog and snow recede into space, as a plague doctor stands like a statue in the foreground. The plague doctors were sent to cure the plague known as the “Black Death,” and their methods of medicine were questionable at best. Above the mountains, a bird lifts up into a vertical swoop as it sheds white wings and emerges as a beautiful black bird. Two birds on the horizon fly as silent witnesses. Entering the endless mountains, a child begins a solo journey into the unknown. Earth, vapor, air and spirit are all key elements in this composition.
